Retirement! Now I have more time to do the things I (think I) want to do, but the finances are limited. I want to create art but: “You need better supplies”, they said. “You need to join the group”, “We take a percentage”, “You’ll have to volunteer”, “You need a certain style”, “You have to pay the fee”, and on and on. When can I create? How can I afford to do it? Am I even good enough to try to do this? These are the thoughts and realities that I didn’t expect when I so happily started this journey called retirement. But I will not give up. Yet. Creating is in my blood … like a wonderful tonic – or a bad disease? Time will tell.
